The aim of the development of the SCR 100 Series rebreather was to offer a safe and easy to use rebreather using reliable technology for the sport diving market. The Submatix Series is designed to seamlessly upgrade from the original Submatix SCR 100 ST, to the twin mix SCR 100 XT through to the fully closed circuit 100 ST SMS. Throughout the product’s evolution, reliability, safety and simplicity were the driving factors behind the design. The new SUBMATIX SCR 100 ST rebreather offers the ambitious sport diver the reliable SUBMATIX technology to carry out dives to a depth of 40 metres. By using correctly planned nitrox suitable for the planned depth, the diver can take advantage of longer dives, longer no stop times and a gas consumption which is independent of depth.
Core to the rebreather is the carbon dioxide scrubber, removing exhaled carbon dioxide and allowing the user to ‘recycle’ the gas. This chemical absorption of carbon dioxide creates heat and moisture. Therefore, the diver loses less body heat and dehydration will be reduced significantly.
Submatix 100 Series SCR:
- longer dives with longer ‘no stop’ times (safer dives)
- warm and moist breathing gas (reduced heat loss and less dehydration)
- very little exhaled bubble noise (get closer to aquatic wildlife)
- ‘static’ buoyancy (minimised ‘up and down’ movement due to breathing in a loop– so better photos are possible)
- divers gas supply is unrestricted and independent of depth, consumption is determined by the constant flow nozzle.
- easy to maintain
- German engineering
Special qualities:
- compact design
- ideal travel unit
- 2 ltr x 232bar DIN valve steel cylinders .
- mouthpiece can be open / closed with one hand
- scrubber canister is made of Plexiglas making it easy to spot if poorly packed
- SUBMATIX SCR 100 ST can be delivered without BCD so own can be used.
- flow nozzles for standard nitrox mixes (easy to self change)
